Will any rockers that suit a 308 or small block Chevy work with a 186 head (on a 202)
This idea has been put in my head by a well regarded engine builder. Intakes only.
Not easy to find sets of 6, have found some compcams single 1817s on summit
for what appears to be $40us.
Are there any other brands worth looking at?
He recommended these to me to match a new grind of cam I asked him to spec up for me.
I already have 1.6s in and exh, but he reckons 1.7 and 1.6 will work nicely.
Hence the early shopping around.
Which leads me to consider putting them in before the new cam swap.
I would have .030” clearance from stem seal to retainer with new 1.7 theoretical lift as is,
is this enough with hydraulic lifters?
Cam lobe lift is .305
Springs are crow 4327-12, installed 120lb, 250lb@ .5 lift, rate 275lb/inch
Sorry for so many questions at once, I bloody hate that
if you could even half answer one of them I would be very grateful
Thanks, Bruce

I've been using 1.6 Chev roller rockers with over .600" valve opening for the past 20 years without problem, so running 1.7 shouldn't be an issue if you have the clearance. Unfortunately the easiest way to purchase is in sets, gives you some spares. Brand wise, you get what you pay for. I'd prefer .040" clearance from seal to retainer, it allows for some pump up etc.
