I’m working with my local Rare Spares trying to resolve improve replacement seat backs (picture 1). From memory a lot of seat backs broke off in their early days.
Picture 2 shows a stock seat back/original never been off the vehicle, broken etc I recall back then the solution from Holden (?) was to drill and fasten the retaining brackets with nut and bolt, picture 3 and 4.
Recently the bottom of one of the cars seatbacks broke off at the base, replacement purchased form rare spares, the replacement has a thin moulded bracket for location up into the rear of the headrest (picture 5). Passenger jumps in, is moving seat and moulded tab at the top breaks off.
My question - has any one experienced a similar problem with replacement seat backs? I will add that Rare Spares are working with me to resolve and have honoured the sale with a replacement unit, but we both agree that the replacement may break as the bracket is about as thick as an ice cream stick, thought and suggestions without attacking the supplier appreciated.
