XZL is a legitimate engine no. prefix for a UC 202 (auto) engine block. It is late number, probably a 1979 build, the earlier engines were prefixed XQL, up until they reached xx999999.
The X is manually stamped at the assembly plant, while the QLxxxx was stamped earlier, at the engine plant.
The HZ 202 (auto) & UC 202 (auto) engines were identical, so they added the X to signify that it originated in a Torana.
