Hey all...

I was removing all the peripheral crap out of the LJ so that it's all set to go to the sandblasters in the not too distant future, and I came across a small spring, on the bracket that the boot hinge sits against, while the boot is shut.

No wires or anything attached (doesnt mean there shouldnt be, lol)

Anyone know?

The only one I'm aware of in that area is the spring in the boot light switch, still doesn't quite sound like the one your describing.

i agree with hb1200, only the boot light spring in there.

I will try to get down there again over the weekend to get a pic - My first thought was a boot light, but yeah, no real wires or connection to anyting. Just very strange.
