I'm after Pics and info on Torana funnycar dragcars from the early 70's. I've got some parts there already that will help with the build of one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After doing a google search it so far that pic is the only one I have found. There is a bit of talk about who used to own it and how Bruce Phillips owned it etc on dragster.com.au

Theres a view pics on www.visualvelocity.net. i've been told where mick ahtolwoods torana funnycar might be. i'll ring the bloke today.

Mick Atholwoods car ran a big block chev with cast block and heads, with a crowerglide and 2 speed lenco It ran low 7's at 199mph with 50% nitro in the tank

I can sorta recall there was a small speedway tack just there aswell ... Gee I am thinking back to when I was about 11 or 12 at the time.

There sure was, the speedway track was operating for a few years after they stopped using the drag strip/circuit.
Also Bruce McGarvee (spelling of surname might be wrong) used to operate the scenic Tiger Moth flights from there as well.

There was a go kart and Odyssey track at the western end (towards Nerang) too. My Grandparents lived 1k away.

Hi Guys.

The top photo was taken at Castlereagh (near Penrith in Sydney). The Torana is the P & R Performance Funny Car of Bruce Phillips. The was a good article on Bruce & his cars in Aust Muscle Car last year sometime.
