My brother, strictly a rookie driver, in the rookie class, took first place for the day at our local Speedway on Sunday. Against some who weren't quite as inexperienced as he is, one with a supposedly pro built car. Granted, not a big field and others had car trouble, but reliablity is to his credit too.

Strict on track speedway experience, I'd still say wayne's no rookie. More generally though darryl's never owned a V8, I think he even drove mum's car sensibly, while we all flogged it. You could be a little more positive for him.

I would say we have a bout the same experience as we both got our fire proof underwear at the same time so we both started about the same time

just remember to tighten your manifold for the next meet :tease: lol hahahaha

What it all comes down to is that it doesnt matter who wins and who loses or who has a more reliable car all that matters is that we go to the track have fun and leave as mates

Our main classes are super production and series production. Both require original roof, rear quarters and floorpan, but that is about it for super prod. Theres a mates 302 V8 cortina in my yard, one guy has a supercharged hemi in a VL, a datto with supercharged 2.6 astron, all sorts. series production is limited on engine size and type, carby, headwork, running gear and wheel width.Ladies and rookies are actually a liitle more lax allowing full chassis cars & f/glass bodies. There is of course all the safety compliance but that is the basics.

Darryls is a series production car, mild 202, 2 barrel stromy, a little head work, 3 speed and a welded 3.90 banjo.

Mines super production, new but stock 202 bottom end, yella terra head, unknown but ample cam, triple 2" SU's on 8" armours manifolds (they do come though the bonnet hence the scoop), 3 speed and a welded banjo.

If your patient there's some pics here Doc's overflowing shed
