Today while working on my car a old mate popped across the road and asked me about my project. He asked about my bonnet and interior, and then told me he has leather interior from a Torana. It's out of a LH/LX, but im unsure if the front seats would fit, or even if the rears are a possibility.

He said he has been trying to sell the interior for a while now but no one has come to look at it so asked if i wanted it for $50, or for free if i had to make new rails.

Lets just say im unsure of the legality of the seats, but i have met the guy who owns/owned the car they came out of, i dont know him, and havnt seen him in years but my mate explained how he came to have the seats in his posession, and it seems quiet legit.

Anyway i asked my family, and everyone said look just get em coz they so cheap, and that its worth taking the risk. So i said if the owner of them comes along aksing questions then im willing to just hand them over with proof that he owns the car...

Anyway WILL LH/LX seats, front and rear, fit in a LJ 4 dr. The rears would be a bonus but im mianly looking at fitting the fronts.

Thanks in advance. Sorry for posting in the wrong section but i desperately need an answer in this tonight, and was worried if put in interior section it might now get looked at.

Sorry for not answering the question but I'd get them regardless. If you have any troubles just sell them to someone else on these forums or eBay them if you are chasing real money.

Yeah, I'd grab them! LH/LX have a raised section at the front part of the front seats on the floor. You may have to get some bracket made up to suit the seat frames but it won't be a huge job. back seat will probably be a bit wide but I'm sure you can work it out...

ok dean heres how it is. you will have to take the covers off the seats and cut as much foam out as you can, and then reglue the covers back on. then you will have to get your standard lc/lj seat runners and cut 3cm out of them. just cut them in the middle, cut 3cm out and weld th em back together. this will give you a good height for the seats. i have a lh/lx seat in the passneger side of my car. if you just bolted the lc/lj runners up and put it in standard your head would be approx 2" higher than the roofline...

back seats i cant help you with, got no idea. door cards i'm almost certain are diferent. that said, the leather covers for both can probably be modded to fit lc/lj back seats and door trims by any upholsterer for no where near the cost of getting new ones made up.
