Just pulled centre out of the donor vk 9" and worked out my ratio and its an even 3.00 Just wondering if anyones seen a ratio like that before and what it might possibly have come from. Find it unusual for it to be an even number. I counted it 3 times and got a mate to recount it. 39 driven and 13 driver giving 3.00.

I thought that was a common ratio for Highway gears in F*#d's (just can't type it).
Much like 2:78 and 3:08 is for old Holdens.

Ford 3.00 to 1 9 inchs were a very common diff, alot of the GT's had them. They are a could compromise diff for both street & highway use like holdens 3.08 to 1.
I've actually got a 3.00 to 1 disc brake 9 inch rear in my SLR5000 & it's not to bad considering I live in the country & half of my driving is one the highway.
