Hi,
My LX has the same quality as a few other old holdens i know of...you never know
quite how much fuel is in the tank until there's none. SO, i tested the gauge and the needle went right through to the end (showing full tank) so i figure its the sender in the tank.

Tried making the earth a little better, wiring from the metal lines coming out of the sender to the base of the boot but still nothing. Any ideas?? I reckon the sender is shagged but the auto elecs tell me its gonna take at least 3 days to get the sender reconditioned and back in the car. Is there anyone who supplies aftermarket or exchange units?

Cheers, any help is appreciated

Where are you? If Melb. you can "book it in" with Ringwood Speedos and get it back the same day. You would have to remove and refit yourself though.

I think Rarespares do changeover units.
