i picked up some sports seats for my lh today with kit to suit. but when i fitted them they are sitting up way too high. they use the original rails which is wats making them so high. has anyone used a set of rails in their torana's that fit easily that are lower than the torana ones?

yeah there the ones any chance of a picture? it may just seem too high because of the vn commo dash. how did you set up the slide release handle because on mine it mounts to the base of the seat and the runners are seperate. if that makes any sense.

Hey guys... how hard was it to use the standard rails? Was it just a case of drilling holes and bolting the race seats on or did it require more modification?

Im keen to know as I have bought a pair of monza race seats for my lx hatch and will be putting them in over the next few weeks.

as you can see i dont think they sit to high, although im not real tall. i used the 2 hooks that are part of the adjusting mechanism and put a piece of wire from one to the other, that way the seats are still adjustible theyare just a pain in the arse to do so but i dont think im gonna be growing anytime soon so ive set them to how like it

Wow. I like what I see.

Thanks for the comments guys... and yeah it is a funny radiator, it cools intake air for some reason??? don't ask me what is going on there ;)

I haven't bolted them in yet, they are just sitting there in the pic LX8VD69

Next week I will post some more pics with them bolted in...

colour is just plain old ford blue, the pics were taken in the shed so without sunlight it tends to look a deeper colour blue

Ok, my seats are out and the rails are partly attachted to the monza seats, just have to drill some holes and get some spacers and long bolts and all should be sweet, I will post pictures up once they have been fully attachted and installed....

hey dean,
i have the exact set of monza's which will be goin into my LH. just wondering if you could take some shots of under the seats , more importantly the back of it.
when i lined up my rails they were a good 2 1/2" off the floor at the back so im not sure wats goin on there. would like to look at yours to find out if yours ae the same or not.
cheers

I will see if I can get some pictures of underneath the seats for you Big Mac, however the seats are obviously bolted in... I used metal spaces between the rails and seats to fill the gap. They are nice to sit on and are very grippyand hold you in when your alittle sideways :D

yeah, im aware they are bolted in.
my question is that on the floor, the front bolts are on a raised bit of floor, which drops down and where the back bolts are is about 2 inches lowr then the fron. obviuosy youcant bend the rails down and i am just curious as how you overcame this..
i was thinking square tubing as a spacer in between bottom of rail and floor pan.so pics of your setuop woukd be great.
