I have an LC that runs the stock carb and bar accelerator linkage
Now, I'm looking at buying a set of SU carbs that run cable type linkages.

The Carbs

My limited knowledge suggests that there are no supports to fit bar compatable linkages like these. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Linkages

If indeed I can't fit bar linkages..
The other option is to convert the bar to a cable setup. Is it possible/difficult? Will I have to source second hand parts or can you buy all new bits from a retail store. And finally, how?

The cable must run across the top of the engine, if I was to convert it, right?

Thanks a lot.

There's a couple of pics of the rough & ready jobs on the stockcar cables here Cable

Thanks Doc.
hmm, yeah bit of a decision. I don't really have the tools or facilities to start fabricating wire supports and holders etc.

With these linkage setups, can you extend the actuator to come further out the side and rig it up to the existing bar setup? Will it be align? As opposed to the actuator that is supported above the manifold as with the example linkages above.

Thanks

Gav's was originally at the end with a simple bracket off the firewall, but the stress from the heavy extra throttle return spring broke the back fitting out of the manifold. Not a problem normally as there is no extra stress from the setup itself if done correctly. The setup he has now is just a bracket off a V8 manifold pop rivetted to the rocker cover, there was clearance issues at the manifold, had to file a groove to get the right cable angle.

Edit: The extra spring is required on the speedway.

I dont have SU's I have triple Webers, but I know I use a Toyota throttle cable to the original pedal. Will fire up some pics if you want.

that would be nice, IPRALC4. Some of how you fixed the cable around the carbs too.
