Have a look at Google for "V6 conversions at Moree NSW" for info on supply / fitting & cost - not too sure if they supply info about performance running info.

i reckon it would be great if u can get it in there, such a high tech motor in a little car would be great, try v6conversions.com.au they do all sorts of stuff like that

well i can tell you from my experience with a 175kw alloytec over 80,000km's its not a bad motor, haven't had one issue with the driveline, and the fuel economy in the 1550kg ute is about 9-10L/100kms for 70% cruising ... put it in a light LC/J and the figures would only be better....

it should get the torry moving fairly well too, but im not sure how the electronics would go ... im sure you could do it though.

i was just thinking what would be good. the alloytech would have heaps of bolt on engine components that would boost the power figures, extractors, chip tune, etc etc would see one of these over 200kw and easily driven regulary and still have something to give it a squirt when needed. i think the sv6 model has 190kw stock.

Theres a car on CarDomain, dark blue with a V6 in it. They are pretty cheap to come by, gearbox and all seeing most commodore owneres turf their sixes for an eight. Or buy a write off and sell off all the bits you don't need (probably make 1/4 to 1/2 your money back.) Keep the driveline mainly.

You say you can crack 200kw easily. So can RB25s...and then some. Just a thought. They might end up costing the same to convert.

It would be heaps cheaper to fit a good 308. V6 conversions are good if you are giving the car to your girl to drive because they are pretty much idiot proof. They are smooth and torquey but boring as a bastard(i know cause i own 1). A good strong 308 is much more fun(i own one of these too)! Dont bguck about, stick an eight in the fembit.
