Steps:
1) Increase tire width 10MM
2) Decrease aspect ratio 10%
3) Increase wheel diameter 1 inch
4) Keep close to (+/- 2%) OE tire diameter
5) Ensure load index is equal to or above original
tire or that it can carry actual load at
an authorized air pressure.
This is for larger rims, so my 265/50R14s become:-
275/40R15's, 285/30R16's.
Mmm, not sure about the width, think they are talking about standard width wheels to get the load rating right. I don't think that works.

Sorry Pat, have to correct you on that one. Supposedly Brigdestone still do a Grid 3 or 3 Grid or something like that in 205/60R13.Sumitomo HTR 200's are about all you'll get in that size. Bridgestone has dropped all their wide 13 and 14" tyres.
I'm onto my second set of Sumitomos and i am quite happy with them. As others have said there are other options out there.
There is also BFGoodrich Radial T/As if you MUST have the raise white lettering on your tyres. But at $185 a tire, and with the grip levels in the wet a bit questionable, you would wanna have good reason.

Key word was wide. I don't consider 205's as wide, in fact my 265's are looking skinny these days.Sorry Pat, have to correct you on that one. Supposedly Brigdestone still do a Grid 3 or 3 Grid or something like that in 205/60R13.
Glad you can still get em, original tyre sizes are so much a cheaper option, than wheels & tyres, although advantage is you get more modern tread/tyre designs and hopefully better performance. Design of my poor old Eagers hasn't changed in 20 years.
Hope there is options out there, although seen some decent pics with 17's on of late.
