I plan on putting a UC front crossmember into the LX.

I am wondering if these UC lower control arms look right.

First the hole for the antisway bar pins are keyhole shaped. There is no evidence of wear - they are not shiny in the inner side or have wear marks and a friend suggests it may be formed like this intentionally - I'm not so sure as they are not totally identical.

Also the outer ring part for the ball joint looks like it has been welded or cut - is this a factory weld?

What do you guys think?

The weld is ok...the sway bar hole is stuffed..well not stuffed but it is VERY worn.

Almost all the control arms I see these days have the sway bar hole chopped out like that. Weld it up and redrill and away you go.

Those welds at the balljoint are factory. Many of the lower control arms develop cracks at the edges of the ball joints like Rorys pic above and/or have welds on them too these days.

Anyone know a good place in Sydney to get this done?
