I spoke to them about a Salisbury conversion for my Torana. They recommended against it as Salisbury parts were getting hard to find. It would still be worth a call.

Thanks Andy, WA Diffs tell me they can't get new parts, haven't seen a locker for one and the best they could do would be hand build an LSD out of a Stato but it would need the cones replacing on a rgular basis.
Thanks Datto, i've made a couple of calls and it won't fit.
Any more ???
Please??

And no suggestions either.
You would think i was after something weird, like roller rockers for a Zeta Lightburn.
Actually pissing me off considering all the odd bits that keep falling out of sheds.

Harrops have given me another good lead. Oh, they also said they would 'build' me one from a 9 inch donor, - $3k

At what point is a Salisbury no longer a Salisbury based on the rules that apply to your class?

I don't quite understand where your going?
If you are referreing to why a Salisbury, the rules state 'original fitment of components to a base model plus options or variants to that model.'
Thus we choose a salisbury over the original banjo for strength and durability.
If you are refering to modifications to the salisbury, the C2 rules for gbox/trans/final drive state - 'internal components of the gearbox and final drive assy, including ratios, are free, save that the original number of forward gears must be retained.' and further ' full floating hubs on live rear axles, fitted by minimum modification to housings are permitted and encouraged'.
Is that what you are after?

Yes, you answered my question. I figured you had to run a Salisbury diff because of the class rules and I wanted to know how much you were allowed to modify it.
I find it interesting that an A9X is considered a variant of the LX considering they do not share the same floor pan. ( I assume you have an LX hatch because you mentioned the banjo )
