Finding out if mine is a GTR or not

Hi, I have had my LC 2 door for about 4years and was wondering with any one good tell if this VIN is GTR ALC37890B it dosnt have the model plate it does have the throttle bracket on the firewall for the WW carb .

youve provided a chassis number you need the long skinny tag info

Without the vin tag its pretty hard.

If it is an original bracket it is spot welded to the firewall NOT bolted.

I dont have the long plate and the bracket is spot welded on

The fact that the bellcrank lever bracket is spot welded on the fire wall would indicate a GTR is reasonable. However I have just recently seen an original S model car with the same bracket that has never been used.

So the fact that this bracket can exist on an S model indicated to me the lack of quality control, car order confusion and any number of other things occured on the production line in the 70's.

However the rule of thumb is the bracket only existed on LC GTR's.

hi all ,check your front guards to c that the flutes havnt been welded in if not then check spotwelds on top of guards (nice n rough and easy to c ) ,shiter hole in floor will be neat as a pin, not looking like harry the hackers been at it with a angle grinder ,all should be ok,bummer about the vin plate.cheers daz :spoton:

have you got the adr tag as there should be numbers marked on the back like 4 numbers the last 4 for the small tag your car seems to be a 1971 as i can check on my disk its easy
