hq rears onto lx

hi i was thinking about using hq rear drums on my hatch but wasnt sure if the backing plates were the same pattern on the axel housing any help would be appreciated thanks

They have the same bolt pattern & flange on the ends of the axle tubes, but the wheel stud PCD is different from LX to HQ.

It's very easy to do all you need is the HQ backing plates complete and use HT drums if you want to keep the torana stud pattern. you might have a little trouble with the length of the hand brake cable.

So use HK-T-G drums with the HQ backing plates and shoes/cyls.

if you are interested i have most bits for a hq disc rear upgrade which is now not needed i have.

- new discs
- calipers (needs overhaul)
- caliper mounting brackets

all you need is to find backing plates axles and handbrake cables

fairly close to broken hill NOT!!!
maybe near broken torana :cry:
(pin head hole in the oil pressure guage line cost a night at eastern creek and a week to find...bastard thing!!!)
At th mo but i live in campbelltown but can arrange courier through work very reasonable to next day to Mexico costs around thirty clams as does next day to BrisVegas

wouldn't have a clue wot thet are worth, they are useless to me i could trade for something useful though

i'm looking for rear hatch flares or a bob tail wanna trade? grant

I've got a pair of the small rear hatch flares. There are two sizes, the ones that cover the fat tyres and the ones that cover the really fat tyres.

happy to swap....no cash but only on the proviso that they are going to be used and not just added to a parts supply

Grant, I have always liked them with the flares the just go together...alot like Rum and Coke <_< .

I'm getting a WB van. I'll be installing an HQ V8 Salisbury diff and want 4 wheel discs, as I hate adjusting drum brakes. As the van will be used for commercial purposes, they won't allow a BW or 9" conversion.
