Knew I didnt want to do this..Bailey Channel

I know...its a prick of a job...thinking if I use lots of Silicon spray it might make it easier to slip in the channel..any other suggestions?

try pinching it between thumb and finger and pushing it home with a blunt paint scraper. put the scraper on the outside edge not the middle where the felt is.

yes it is.dont be tempted to go short in there,give plenty of length to avoid the glass rattling. have fun. pity your not a plumber .first week of apprenticeship they get another elbow fitted for reaching hard to get places so im told. ha ha ha

Yup, painful, but once you've got it started, it isn't too bad. I pinch it together, then just try get the first little bit in, then it all seems to go OK.

You got the door off and on a stand? That is easiest, but I've also done them fitted.

if you use silicon spray the channel may move when you wind the window up and down, best to just use the pinch method as described (with a bit of slightly soapy water may help it slip into place) rather than use an oily substance that will soak into the channel material and give you headaches later on :D

We found graphite powder worked well and was easy to squeeze/pump in the channel...
Not too sure if it would work in your application or not.
Having said that I do use silicone spray on the new rubbers to assist the door closing easier.
