What a weekend for an engine change..its 32 today..expecting 38 tomorrow....so I am doing most of the swap today..working all of tonight..and if I am lucky...a bit of sleep and fishing tomorrow (anglers almanac say today tomorrow and monday are best days for it this month).

Already i have found a buggered front uni and LH engine mount.

I have my new ebay gearbox($50), new ebay engine(YT head ect ect $50 and 2 stand by ebay blue motors (99 cents for the pair). Just got to swap it all over in time to drive to work Monday.

This cost $50 full of go fast gear...crank buggered though

The old one..suspect cracked bore...bubbles thru radiator and gets too hot.

Its 3 am..stopped work at 1 am due to noise I was making and proximity to neighbours bedroom...but thats nothing to the noise the bloody local drunks youths were making..so I spent the last couple of hours sitting out the front making sure I stay the owner of my stuff.

I went and bought some parts for it..couldn't get .010 bearings for the rods so I will mix the best of some old ones....its no strip stormer...I ended up going fishing..heat was BS!!!!

Caught 3 whiting and a bream.

Wife says I can have the VT tomorrow....if I don't get it done there is always the train.

It was 40 here today...no engine change is worth that.

UPDATE: Its all bad..the thrust bearing was stuffed in the engine I wanted to fit...so I swapped the stuffed main caps for my old ones..but its too tight..so my ebay engine is only worth it for its parts..cost $50....it got a a YT head, rollmaster straight cuts and a big ish cam.

So the new plan is to fit a 161 I have and fit my "new" impco 125..I'll be dropping about 40 hp but I will survive until I build a 202 or 186..I'll do the next one properly.

FastEHHolden when you say the old motor bubbled thru the water, where they small bubbles like in a fizzy drink or larger bubbles.
