I have just fitted a towbar to my four door LJ - I had to source aftermarket nuts and bolts but I can't remember whether the LJ's had anti-crush tubes in the chassis rail. I know HQs and later Torana's had them. Does anyone know the answer?

I put a tow bar on my car every so often and my set up does not need crush tubes.

I only tow a 6 by 4 at the most so I figure that as long as don't tow a caravan/car trailer, I should be right without the crush tubes. The load plates I have should distribute the load over a large area so I won't pull the ass out of my car.

It only takes about 10 mins to run a half inch drill through top and you don't have to worry. I used to tow my skiboat on tandem trailer and never a problem.
