g'day guys / girls
i've been tossing up different motor combos for the Lc.
what i've decided is to either run a holden 308 or a chev 307.
does anyone know the legal requirements needed to fit either of these to an Lc in wa?
i'd also like peoples opinions of these 2 motors.
cheers munro

the chev is the go! there alittle heaver than a 308
dew to the iron intake manifold but who runs them?

there a great little engine 307 chev, thay rev there titts off
There is lots off good bitts you can buy to make them
fly!... if you bore the block to 4 inch it then becomes a 327

There used to be a story going around that you were allowed a 253 manula or a 308 auto...... but no 308 manual
I think you'd be looking at a chassis kit and bigger brakes as a minimum
Best though to talk to Reno at Welshpool to get the real story
Took him 7 months to get mine and Tinks paperwork back though so don't take too long deciding
He was telling me that conversions will be hetting harder to do...... and efi will soon be enforced too ... ie late model engines only ... so maybe a Gen 3 or L76...... lol
I have an engineering report here somewhere for a 308 in an LJ that passed with flying colours
I've seen chevs in em too ..... not sure about legality though

I'd prefer a 283 over a 307
I'd only go the 308 if you have everything sitting around. And if you want an easy job..... cause alot of conversion parts are available.

Page 18 of this document covers the maximum engine sizes.
http://www.dotars.go...es_3Feb2006.pdf

It is based on the original tare weight of the vehicle.

max engine size for lc/lj is 313ci.

Though that might be changing soon, so sooner the better!

g'day andrew.
things have changed. i'll be staying in perth for awhile longer.
i've been meaning to contact mark (machine) as i know he's got all the (aproval in theory) papers but i think they may be out of date by now. a1 what did you have to do to get your torrie engineered?

andy cullan tried that link but i must have a software problem as it couldn't open it up. was it for WA and what did it basicly say

cheers tom
