Hi guys, my lc gtr is currently being sprayed. Gota Hb torana aswell now. Just wondering, it looks as though the chassis is the exact length and size as LC, not to forget that the interior is also very similar. Was just wondering if it is just as easy to put a chev in a hb also? Has anyone done it on here???
I guess I will need to solid mount it to the chassis, buy a chassis kit and recess the firewall, and trim the tunnel a fair bit.
Also do lc/lj stub axles fit onto hb's?
I really just need info on the hb and what is changeover with the LC. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Adam.

from what i remeber reading it was more like the other way around, the LCs used the chasis out of HBs, it was just the bodies them selves that were different, so therefore it should be just as easy to drop a chev into a HB as it would be to drop it into a LC

From what I have read the LC 6 cylinder was designed using a stretch HB floorpan, so it will have a lot of similarities.
I am a bit confused why you have said the HB chassis is the same length as the HB, have you actually measured them both? The LC 6 cylinder chassis should be ~11 inches longer than the HB.

Thanks for the info guys. The chassis isn't the exact length, but for a chassis kit it would hopefully be identical for the hb.
Any more info out there about the little hb???

I think Chris (HB1200) is a pretty good source of info on the HB's...

The LC four pot has an identical chassis set-up to the HB.
The interior and instruments are a carry over (Brabham cluster is identical to LC GTR).
From the behind the firewall back is the same as LC.

I might have a pic of the HB chassis strengthening kit that was used in the UK for rallying. It probably won't be quite suitable for a v8 but may offer some ideas.

I can't find the pics for the HB at the moment but here's one for the HB's bigger brother the Magnum, still 4cyl though.
