Can anybody confirm if the LC & LJ Xu1 share the same battery tray ?

Also does anybody have information of the size of the support plate that attaches to the side of the tray ??

Cheers

Luke, they share the same tray. See here http://www.gmh-toran...topic=13293&hl=

Don't know about the support for the tray though, mine has been cut off too.

Cool thanks!

Can anybody confirm the size and the thickness of the metal support bracket ?

mine was obviously ditched when somebody thought it was a good idea to mount a 7 inch battery sideways to clear the tripples.

I measured mine and looks original, shitty welding.
7 1/2 inches long
4 1/4 inches high at front (rad support)
3 inches high at back
level along batt tray
thickness looks to be 1/16 inch

This is a pic of my battery carrier installation. I am pretty certain that that the carrier is a replacement but the support is original. I have noticed that the rough welding is common - even on a couple of original cars that I have seen. It will be interesting to see how it compares with the setup on limo's car.

Thanks Luke

I always try to be helpful and share what little I do know. It is apparent to me that there are some folks that should be in a position to help but are at times conspicuous by their silence. I think it's the "knowledge is power syndrome".

I say share it around if it helps promote or enhance the Torana legend.

mine not very clear due to mess from paint removal but you can see rough welds,
the tray itself is spot welded to the bracket, could feel and see welds
