Gday,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many LH SLR 5000s had doeskin interiors, was it rare, can trim still be purchased?

Gday Arrimar,
I have seen the hood linnings on ebay and some second hand assist handles, but that is about all that i can find, before i got my car it had been changed to a black interior, and i was not sure weather to retrim it in black or to return it to its original colour, depending on material and its availability, if yourself or anyone else can help me it would be appreciated.

i personally think although the lighter colours look fantastic the availability of good ones 2nd hand makes going black an acceptable option.
boomfunk has access to the vinyls required.
my interior is meant to be chamois but its done in repro black.

I think that your correct that black is probably the better way to go due to the availability of n.o.s. for sale as well as good second hand parts in that colour, i will also be looking for black and white hounds tooth material for new inserts in the seats, do you know of anyone that sells the material or does seat retrimming in S.A.

as when you say houndstooth, i generally no that as being a hq material

and this one above...the rusty SS as herringbone?

i'll find out both as i can get both

The material you are talking about is herringbone (zig-zag pattern) and standard in LX SLR/SS TORANA'S. Houndstooth looks like the david jones shopping bags and found in HQ + LC/LJ'S.

Gday Glenn,
I will have to find out whether my has been retrimed with the wrong cloth, because it is definatley houndstooth not herringbone, maybe on the fist of the LH's there was a change over, not sure.

Houndstooth cloth inserts were available up until late 77 as a dealer option i have seen a late model SS 308 and RedSlur has houndstooth as delivered.
