I believe the 253's were never made in turbo pattern?

Viper is correct. However, I have seen a couple of 253's re-drilled to suit a TH350 before. Post a pic of the back of your block and somebody will be able to tell you.

The easiest way for the inexperienced to tell is to measure the locating dowels. 1/2" is Trimatic, 5/8" is Turbo. You can use an open end spanner to check.

Hope this helps.

Good info struggler, that's a nice easy way for the novice to tell. :)

Also note that the bolt holes are in different positions.
