gday im wanting to get a thermo fan for my lc as the norm isnt making the cut i hav a three core radiator but i think the problem is that it just cant draw enough air! so wot sort of thermos are you people runnign in your lc's??

When I had a heavily worked six I had a vk radiator with a 16in baco fan in front of the radiator but it was angled slightly to fit the fan in.The wouldnt even overheat on the hottest of days,

i have a 12 inch on the front up the top left corner and a 9 inch on the back down the bottom right corner...tucked just inside the lower rad hose. works a treat.

ok then two different sized fans from what? have u got a photo of that set up? the single 16 in. baco sounds good but how do u mean angled it ?

the 12 only just fits with a tiny bit of spare room on the radiator core...a 16 would be way bigger so would have to be made to fit. woudl work well though.

what is better?
bout to get some for my torrie.... commo style radiator so its quite high probly 16" high of the fins
1x 16" thermos
or
2x 10" thermos

IIRC a 16" davies craig fan flows almost 50% more than a pair of their 10" fans.

My vk radiator sat a little closer to the eng at the bottom,the top was angled slightly forward so that the fan fitted,I used just a switch to turn it on/off but those temp switches + a override switch from jaycar etc would be much better.I also had to use an 80amp alternator as it was slowly draining the battery running everything on a hot night stuck in traffic.

i got twin 10 inch fans on my lj, they fit perfectly on the front of the radiator in a lj/lc

I ran two KC laser thermos when I had teh EH. Never ran hot at all. Ran the temp switch (cannot remember which one now) to turn it on. One was on the inside and the other on the outside. It is known that the laser fans turn a hell of a lot faster than most. I think they are 8-10inch in diameter and move a hell of alot of air. If doing thermos again I would not think about anything else. Besides the wreckers want approx $25 for them.
