Underfloor area and boot were painted at the factory in what was described as (funny enough) underfloor and boot black, translated into Tuxedo black which now is midnight black. The problem is the vat of black paint at the factory also acted as the "dumping vat" of left over paint at the end of the day, so you'll find it has a green tinge to it. I believe the factory may have given the cars a light coat of the colour all over before spraying the floor and boots black. I've never had a close enough look but I'd say it could actually be that the colour along the sides is not infact overspray, but the black is roughly sprayed on and not masked over the colour but concentrated in the tunnel area. Have a look in the wheel arch areas, thats painted black over the colour for sure. Once my mates shed and hoist are up I'll have a look. Looking at your black, it's been redone for sure at some stage, it comes right to the sills on your car.

I went and give her a scrub with a wet sponge and it looks like it is flat to me it has no gossiness to it at all, I even got the paintscraper and there is no other paint underneath.LXSS5000, you'll find if you gave it a good scrub it will come up glossier than that.
Could it be that the paint is all mixed up and they used whatever and you got what they used?
Now even I am confuesd what color do I pain the underbody of my car?
Cheers Byron

Any scrubbing or polishing of flat paint will make it glossy.I've scrubbed mine clean and in the tunnel area it's certainly more gloss than flat

I didn't polish it yella, and it certainly wouldn't buff up with the cleaning I did, beside the tunnel area was already nice and clean.
