Many fans of the original Torana are disappointed with the newer model, believing it's nowhere near worthy of the name.

I personally like this part:
Australian V8 engines
The V8 is a very popular engine amongst Australians. This popularity can be attributed to both the popularity of the V8 in the USA, but also the V8's inherent characteristics. The V8's deep growl (actually a property of the muffler system) and its powerful mid-range torque have made it a more popular engine to the more refined I6 and V6 engines.
----
Oh yeah
Aussie's love something with some real man-power and a tough grunt, no girly screaming 3cyls for us
[edit: no offense to any non-v8 torries out there ]

No offense taken, Red sixes have real man power and a tough grunnt aswell. Not as tough as an 8, but not as expensive either.

If that's a refference to the TT36, then the comment is irrellevant. It will never be built for the production line. It was built as an example of what could be done with existing platforms. It's like comparing the Hurricane to something else. Pointless. Many fans of the original Torana are disappointed with the newer model, believing it's nowhere near worthy of the name.
