It's very impresive, it's just a shame every race this car goes in it wins because it is apparently illegal as far as Group C goes and is putting out around 60hp more than the other A9X's. Even Harvey said it goes a hell of a lot better than what it did when I raced it in the 70's

The A9X always sat high, thats where they handle best. I was told there may have been some old races on one of the pay TV channels

I went to Phillip Island in about 98, just before the owdens bought the 79 Brock car. Brock was racing it, and Harvey was in the car featured in the video, his 77/78 car. I remember when they took off from the pits just thinking all hell had broken loose. When I played back the video I could hear myself saying, holey bguck, or something like that. These 2 were racing against a NASCAR, and they both beat it, harvey coming out the winner despite the car having a deflating left rear tyre, and not running a full spec race engine at the time. I think Harves had something to prove. It was great to watch as they came onto the straight. Hmm I might have to see if I can find it.

Dont know if you guys noticed the other thread, re the sports sedans, the dude who is hosting that file has a FULL copy of the 79 race... which he taped at the time... and has converted to DVD.. he is selling this for around $50

here are the details:

Thanks for your enquiry about my DVD collection
The DVDs are DVD -R. They are converted from Video Cassette recording of the original telecast (full race) less adverts. Obviously the quality depends on the TV reception at the time but most on my collection are very clear. Obviously 1980 is 25 years old now and that's a long time for a tape to be sitting around but the picture is still good. Now that they are on DVD they will not deteriorate any further. Every year except 1980 include pre and post race telecast.
