i've found an lh that i will probably buy, however because its an lh it has the square headlights which i'm not particularly fond of. so, would it be possible to swap them for round lx headlights? without changing panels or mounts or heaps of stuff?
cheers

They are not readily interchangable, but pretty easy to change.

You need to move the mounting screws to the opposite side that they are currently on, i.e. top to bottom, left to right. You'll also need to remove the extended plastic clip from the bottom, and change it offer for a plain flat plastic clip for the bottom of the round headlight surround. You also have to change the retaining spring to the opposite side to where they are currently. On the right hand guard, you may find that the deformation is there to take the spring, but not the hole, so it's just a matter of drilling the hole for the spring, similar to the one on the other side.

Pretty easy.

Sorry dude, it may be a bit confusing. When I'm talking about swapping everything over to the other side, I'm talking individual head light assemblies, not the left to right headlight, i.e the whole car. Hope that's clearer.

Can't agree with you more, love my LH's, but gawd, those square headlights were a shocker!

Ditto,
I much prefer the round headlights in a LH/LX torana. But i recently bit the bullet and put the square ones back in the LH, just for the sake of originality, definately not for looks.

I have recently fitted the round ones, and did everything that Yella has suggested but, also had to remove some metal from the headlight mounts and radiator support panel to get the park lights to fit. This was the Halogen conversion though not original sealed beams. Also made up some headlight covers from some plexiglass and a couple of self tappers. To see results have a lok at this.Headlight Covers

Yes I do beleive there are some rounds that will plug straight in, and others that you have to modify a bit. Haven't really ever looked into that part yet. We had to modify Herne's for the park light windows. I do believe there are two types of Halogen, but not entirely sure.

Come up pretty good Jimjet. OMG, a green version of Ole Yella!!!

Eep? I didn't make it that confusing did I? You'll understand what it all means when you pull the headlight out, fairly easy.

(Yella starts to feel like Alltora).
