Yep this event is coming up in 2 weeks... my car survivied the Hill climb all ok so it all go for this event...
I even got a phone call today from a reporter wanting to put a piece in the South Coast Register about me and my car and of course about the Wakefield Park race meeting.... see what happens. it should be out next week.

Hmmm...... loftus back in the GTR...
My predictions.....
Loftus 1st.... daylight 2nd.... and that's no slight on any of the other runners as all are talented steerers..... But that GTR is a BULLET.

Yep Loftus has been upgrading the GTR in the last 12 months...
Without Flemo and Leanne Tander to keep him honest (his main rivals in 2005) yep I think you might be right.
I am out to set a sub 1.10 lap.. (my best is a 1.10.2) hope to get into the 9's and finish in the top 10. No easy feat, as mostly all are quicker than me.
Its just goes to show how far our category has come, when I can lap in the 10's and still come last 4 years ago it would have been a top 5 time.

what a weekend I had. 
I had to work my ass off. All 3 races I had race long duals with people, I couldn't relax at all, it was flat out from start to finish in all 3 races.
I qual 13th and finished 13th in race 1. I had a race long duel with an RX7 and he just beat me.
Race 2 I finished 11th and had the same race long duel with the RX7, but this time I got past him and we went across the finish line together and I beat him by 0.1 sec (half a car length, the RX7 beside me above ^ )
Race 3 I finished 8th and I won my class. This time I left the RX7 behind me and I had a race long duel with a Datto 1600 Turbo (the one in the 3rd photo above^), he got past me once, but I blasted past him down the straight and I held him off till the end. I was also knocking on the door of the guy in 7th also
I just couldn't quite get him.
That is my first top 10 finish and class win ever.
The car is all straight and I drove very well. I am very happy with my results.
My best time over the weekend was a 1.11.2. in R3.
But I did notice that every one seemed to be about 1 second slower than where they normally are.??

Consistant driving and a sensible approach is paying off.....WELL DONE.
proving that you don't have to be spending a million dollars and falling off the road at every corner to take a win.
With luck the Walky will be at round 2.. engine went back in yesterday...

well I havent got one in my car but the guy behind did... warning 17 mb
If you click on the link you will find a "Download movie" under the words "Race 3 Round 1 NSW Champ 2007_small " click on that and you will find the race that I had with a Datsun 1600... he is directly behind me on the starting grid.... he gets past a RX7 then hunts me down eventually... but if you look in the distance I am trying to get around a RX7 in front of me.. I seem to catch him right on the kink and I kick up some dust on one lap trying to get past him... about this time my tyres start going off and if you look closely my car is missing its apexes as its moving around like a pork chop... and finally I run wide at the fish hook and he see's his chance and we go at it for another 2 laps very close... at the end his video says his best lap was a 1.11.3, well mine was a 1.11.2... anyhow enjoy... the race goes for 12 laps...its not a very clear video... but thats all I can show you of my car in action....
