Grr ... this will be the death of me!

Lately I have been having some real trouble starting the car ... trouble shooting shows it's the solenoid on the starter motor. Before I go ahead and replace the whole starter motor, is it possible to purchase just the solenoid for the starter motor and if so where would I start hunting for it? If anyone even has one lieing around that would do the trick I'd be happy to make a deal.

It's no fun hunting for parking spots on hills ... or stalling when it's cold at lights :furious:

Oh well!

Any help would be appreciated!

Going from experience, you can get the solenoid. Have you thought about having the starter motor o/hauled? It's usually not overly expensive although it depends on who you know and what they know. I just recently replaced the starter on the girlfriends falcon and it wasn't badly priced. I got a new genuine 1 for about $130. Go see you local auto electric bloke, he'll be able to sort you out. Also, i've found that if you go to a holden dealer (i'm guessing its for a torana) they might have something to suit, i was amazed to find that my local dealer had parts for a 1 tonner i used to have and it was all cheap. Just a thought.

Hope i helped. Good luck with it
