Hey guys i know this has probly been asked b4, i did do a search but couldnt find exactly wat i wanted to know.
Basically i want to change stud pattern all round on my LH sedan, and was looking at a Hoppers Stoppers kit and was gonna go to commo stud pattern, but since then have been looking at wilwood calipers and rotors. Now i know i can change to HQ easy enough but can i do the same to change over to commodore stub axles or should i just have the fronts as torry pattern and convert the rear to commo (cause im gettin some hi grade billet axles and they only come in 5 x 120 or ford pattern)
what do you guys suggest? i know the rotors can be drilled to match any pattern but will the calipers fit what mods will i need to do? looking at 330mm rotors too.

Commodores use a MacPherson strut. If you can bolt that into the Torry, you're a better man than I. If you want really good brakes, buy some DBA 019 front discs ( 330 mm ) and wait until dattoman has his brake conversion kits ready for sale. His kit uses the aforementioned discs and AP calipers. Start saving lots of money.

You'll also need 17" wheels or bigger for those size brakes.

yeah im gettin 17's soon gonna do the whole shebang in one go....just researching atm.....
Also chop his kits will be helpful but im over in Brisbane so there would be freighting costs too...i can get wilwood calipers and AP racing calipers at good prices. but i wanted to keep stud pattern the same all way round if preferable and the axles i want are commodore pattern. but if i have to run different i will.
and chop i wasnt askin bout the whole suspension set up just the stub axles....i didnt know if they could get changed over...
what would i need to upgrade to 330mm rotors and good calipers? like mounting kits etc....should i just order the hoppers kit without calipers and get my own cause they use the 330mm DBA rotors?

If you can buy the AP calipers locally, you should be laughing. The discs ( DBA 019 ) are Commodore stud pattern and can be bought new from Repco, Bursons etc. The only bits needing freight would be the actual adapters themselves. dattoman assures me they will be less than 3 KG and shouldn't cost much to be sent by Aust Post.

when you say the adapters what do u mean? the adapters from torana to commodore pattern or for the calipers? do we have an ETA on when these will be available and price? would it be easier to change over to HQ and get 330mm DBA rotors for them or do DBA not make 330mm for HQ. and yeah one of my mates has a parts shop and can get AP racing and wilwood stoppers so its local and good price too!

The adapter bolts to the stub axle where the stock caliper normally goes. The AP caliper then bolts to this. You can order DBA 019 discs blank and then get them drilled to whatever stud pattern you want. Only slight issue with that is the Commodore hub is 69.5 mm in diameter and the HQ is 71.5 mm. This just means the rim won't be an exact fit over the brake hub, unless you manage to get hold of some locating rings. Contact Bob Jane etc. about these and ask for 69.5mm >> 71.5 mm ALLOY ( not plastic ) hub rings.

well i currently run std torana pattern....so i have freedom of choosing whatever pattern and wheels i want. hooray for choice. plus my wheels will be getting custom made to the stud pattern i choose. do we have an ETA on these adapter plates CHOPPER? and a price?

Ask dattoman, he's doing the conversion.
