everytime it rains the passenger floor gets wet and it seems to drip down from behind the glove box bit somewhere... but I can't find where it's coming from!

Anyone else had this problem?

Cheers.

stick your head under the front guard and you will see the end of a black rubber tube...stick your garden hose up there and give it a quick squirt to unblock the crap that is in it.

If you are super dedicated you can pull the cowl vent (grill in front of windscreen) and clean it out too....that should stop it unless its rusted out..of which you might be able to see while cleaning it out.

when mine did this it turned out it was the windscreen leaking and it ran down the rubber on the side and wet the floor

Just think!

We know how people's driving manner changes when it gets wet.

I would suggest you stop scaring the piss out off your passengers :D

The other end of the tube goes into the plenum chamber, the grille below the windscreen.
There are numerous threads involving this and this
The part of the plenum that joins the ventilation snorkel is notorious for rusting through.

^^^^ yep a crap area to get at.

Probably rusted around the lip in the metal where the plastic 'air box' connects.

Come at it from all angles.

Remove plennum chamber grille. Shove vacuum cleaner down there first.
If you have one of those little carvacs with the small tube, even better.

Try to unblock the drain tube, from under the guard. You can see the drain tube
from under your dash. Dont suggest pulling it off. A bastard to reconnect and
re-seal. Try using compressed air, rather than water. Then repeat ^^.

If you can unscrew the air box (3 screws) you can get in to the plennum chamber.
Shove vacuum cleaner in there. Re-seal when done. Oh, also remove the glovebox
inner, rubber vent tube and remove coconut hair dampening to one side.

By pouring water in thru the plennum grill and watching where it comes out,
you will see what needs to be done. Not a fun job.

Have a dig around the site, there are quite a few q's about this.

I ended up parking my car 'nose up' our steep drive way to stop this from happening!!! LOL.
