138-186/202 Valve spring Size/comp ratio too

Hey
Ive got a 138 head and also a 202 or 186 or somthin head did they have diff valve sizes or has this head been played with thanks
Oh also might aswell ask here how much diff in comp ratio is there with teh 138? know a rough figure? 9.5-1?

If i were to guess, i'd say you have about 8.9:1 compression and the valves are bigger as are the ports in the 179 - 202 heads. Keep in mind this is only a guess!

Apart from XU-1 heads ( which were modified by YT ) all Holden 6 Red heads have the same size valves. The ports may be smaller in the smaller engines, but I'm not 100% sure. It's been 15 - 20 years since I last saw my 149 head.

The valves should be the same size. the ports and the chambers are the things that changed. Holden tried to keep common things across the range that way the tooling was nto so expensive. Once the head gets played with the vavle could be anything.. :S
