Just keeping an eye out for wheels for the monaro, but i want to know what width and offset (and what size rubber) i can stick under there without scrubbing with a standard salisbury diff and no body mods (i would roll the lip if needed). Also what size can you safely put under the front without hitting the lip of the guard.

Thanks
Damien

8" rim tyre combo with 4" back spacing works ok, if you could squeeze out a bit more back spacing would be better tho.

On my HX, I fitted a pair of 15x10 ( - 5 offset ) with 255/60R15's many years ago. Gave the guards a tap in a couple of places and all was cool.

I was running 275/50/15 tyres on 8 inch rims with a 4 inch backspacing on the wagon, without shortening the diff but with the lips rolled on the guards.

currently running 295/50/15's on 9inch rims with 3 inch backspacing, but the diff is 2 inches shorter than standard and the wheel arches are pumped out about an inch too :D

can't help you much with the fronts as I use front runners, but we used to fit a 225/60/14 under the front of the HQ race car on a 7 inch rim.

Wagon and sedan do have the same width wheel arch area but but they are different shapes inside the wheel tub , the wagons r/h/s inside wheel tub is longer to allow for the fuel filler neck too.

Currently on my Hq i got Widened Hq stockies that are 14X8. not sure of the Offset but 235/50/14 fill out my guards perfectly, like it looks like it would rub, but it never has even with a car full of people!

Good info, keep it coming :spoton:.

One more question, what is the smallest rubber and largest rubber that will (safely) strech over *x8 *x9 and *x10 rims. I want to fit largest rims i can, rather than using really wide rubber on a smaller rim if its possible.
