I think they recently let you have numberplates with numbers before letters, so you could do something like "202-LX". I'm guessing most letter-number combinations would have already been taken, but something like 202-LX is discreet but still to the point, definately makes the car look a treat too. Remember to get a full sized rear numberplate though!

Vic roads recently released mixed plates, but you still can't have a number before letters, such as 202 LX. You can have A202LX, and other combinations are endless. There's been quite a few people selling these types of plates on ebay, asking rediculous prices. You can look up what plates are available on the vic roads web site now, it's good to muck around with..

Thanks for that Vic Roads website Matty, after a few goes ,and a few beers I came up with V8SS77, so rather then let some profiteer get a hold of it and exploit in the Trading Post, I bought them online. How about LXSL77 or SLLX77. there are still a lot of combos avail because of the new mixed release, so get online and get those plates, before they end up in the T/Post for 4 times the price.

The Custom plates can cost you a bit each year but if you are clever you can think up some good ones for standard plates provided they are not taken.

For instance the standard 3 letters with three numbers:

ILX-202 = One LX 202

There are also other types of plates like two letter and three/four numbers

you could go with your username

KC-069 or

KC-202 or

KC-3300

as well as these there are the plates three letters, two numbers and then one letter and other variations are now coming out.

All these plates will cost you the initial fee then you never have to pay any extra.

Consider them before going for the yearly payment of custom plates.

Standard plates are a once only payment if you want to get them changed.

Custom plates are a yearly payment and quite expensive.
