I've heard of HQ banjo axles cut and re-splined, but due to their lack of strength, I wouldn't bother. If you want shortened axles for a V8 HQ Salisbury diff, then you must use 1 tonner axles, or get billets made.So it is possible to have normal hq cut down and resplined , so the shaft must be big enough to cut the new splines , I dont want to go down the path of redrilling axles again < Does any body know where i can get it done , REX

But he wants to put an LH Bango diff back in, not a Salisbury.I've heard of HQ banjo axles cut and re-splined, but due to their lack of strength, I wouldn't bother. If you want shortened axles for a V8 HQ Salisbury diff, then you must use 1 tonner axles, or get billets made.
Given the choice though, I'd be using standard or fine spline LH/LX axles, and getting them redrilled to suit HQ, not cutting and resplining HQ ones.

McDonald bros in Thomostown do them, they dont redrill axles as its not legal. If HQ banjo axles are to thin to cut down and respline you can just use HQ sulsbury 28spline axles, cut them down and respline then to suit banjo fine spline.. Surely 28spline sulsbury axles are thick enough to machine down..
Another place is John Taverna chassis in Leo Street Fawkner..
