I received this email from Whiteline a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for your interest in Whiteline products.

The part numbers to suit your Torana are as follows:

Front - BHF37 RRP $235.00

Rear - BHR37 RRP $235.00
     KU4 RRP $65.00
Please note, a KU4 U-Bolt kit will be required to accommodate the axle tubes on a 9inch diff

Please find the photos of these bars attached. We no longer powder coat our swaybars in this blue, it is in a silver metallic, but for illustration/orientation purposes there is no change in the bars. I can't confirm if these bars will accommodate a non-standard front spoiler or brake ducting as we've designed the products around a standard vehicle.

In regards to final pricing and purchasing information you can contact one of our distributors in your local area such as Autobarn, Burson, Coventry or Repco stores.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Kind Regards,

Wayne Vickery

I recevied this reply from KMAC a couple of weeks ago. Could not get any pictures and I am not sure that it is the same as used by Peter Brock.

Yes, we make them!!

Same as we supplied to Peter Brock and the first 6 over the finish line at Bathurst in 1977

Bars are ultimate slide adjustable.

Front Kit is $465 incl GST

Rear $425

Freight $38

The front bar is designed to fit with the Bathurst A9X
set up which included the brake ducts.

The side splash skirts were deleted with the 2 bolts that
hold them on becoming the 2 mount points for the sway
bar frame brackets

Regards
Kevin

Yes, the Whiteline look the same as the old Selby's front mount bars, they mount "directly" to the front rails (no surprise given Whiteline is the old Selby's).

You guys are so QUICK! I am guessing the Whiteline one fits OK with the std front spoiler and brake ducts?. Hard to justify the extra cost of the KMAC..adjustable or not..Strange the rear Whiteline uses the axle as the twisting part and the stock rear bar fits to the trailing arms?..Guess they know what they are doing.
R

P.S. He gave you the wrong number..the forward mount Whiteline is a BHF 35...not a 37.....37 is std replacement rear mount one.

Rory

Thanks for pointing out that they gave me the wrong part number. I am glad that I have not ordered it yet.

Is your front bar available from Whiteline? It looks like a good setup.

this is a mix of old and new kmac components.
must say that the old components are more rigid than the new in their construction

as you can see the "delete side splash guard" comment is a weird one.

the rose jointed link pins are special order if you require them. the standard ones they send out nowdays are quite different.
the lower control arm bracket is a piece of crap in my opinion. soft as putty and needs some mods i reckon.

Hmmm...Twice the price and the only thing that was swinging me was the huge lower brackets bolted to the arms...but Howard says the later ones are a bit softer?...The Whiteline ones..brackets ,,look quite flimsy compared. Still dont know.
I could get the Whiteline and get stronger lower brackets made. If the rose jointed are are extra the KMAC is looking way over priced. Might be easier to get the Whiteline and improve it. Howard, is the lower arm bracket in that pic ^^ the old or the new?

So you dumped KMACs ones and made up some rose jointed ones>?...Funny thing happened today...I accidently found Frank Matichs old fitter and turner I used to work with....Peter Hughes...you might remember him being mentioned in AMC in the John Goose special about how he won Bathurst and bought the Matich F5000....he did all the work on Franks SR3/4 and all the Matich F5000 cars..he teaches TAFE in Tamworth..now I have a fabricator again ! :spoton: :spoton: He is itching for me to get him to make something! Lol!

I believe the more recent Kmac brackets clear the brake ducts (my setup is 1990)

oh man too many howards in this thread i'm all confused.

the shiny bracket in my pic is the modern lower arm mount.
the black one in the other howards(litre 8) pic is the old sturdy style.

the bar i have came from a box of bits that included some really low springs and shocks.i'm not sure if the brackets are shorter to suit but it seems to fit higher from the road than others i have seen.youll notice packers between the u shaped mount and the support bracket, thats to clear the high volume oil pump.
