G day, been watching this site for a while and was hoping I
can get some help with an engine number. Recently got some parts
free including stock bore red 202, has QP______ engine no and a
June '78 casting date. All HQ 202 numbers are QL or QM, high and
lo compression as far as I know, also got a spare 544 input and was
wondering if the input/clutch gear would fit a standard M21 box.???
Cheers Jono

Hi
According to the LJ catalogue P/N 2823544 is the input/clutch gear specified for the LJ XU-1.
I am not sure what a "standard M21 box" is.
No mention of QP here:

Yeah sorry, M21 308ci 497 cluster as they are both 2.54:1, will the 544
input mesh with the 497 cluster. On the engine no I was just wondering if it
could be from GM P&A as the numbers aren't stamped as bold/deep as others
only ask as I when I did a short block swap for the dealerships I currently
work for, I'm suposed to( when I remember to) transfer the original number
by stamping into the new block & old block going back to factory.
Not really important, got a couple of stock bore blocks to use, its just that
the "P"s got me buggered.
