I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head around the set-up here :fool: . Could someone please confirm or deny that there is a narrow (1") chrome strip which screws to the top of the door and then another curved steel bit attached to the trim which slides into the chrome strip on the door.

Apologies for the diversion.

there is no "chrome strip" on the top of the door trims they slide into a folded channel which is screwed onto the doors at front and inner skin at back
screws are horrible tiny things to get out, mild steel and rust

Hi Guys.

limo is correct, just about all 'chrome' on early Holdens (pre 1980s) is actually stainless steel. The screws, clips & body might rust away, but the stainless strips last ages.

The only real 'chrome' is on the bumpers, door handles & other diecast bits, most of it is stainless.

Dr Terry.
