Found some made in England Wipac 7" inserts on eBay. A little different in that the lens is curved like the original sealed beams. Came with the park light globes and holders and a rubber seal which my Hellas were missing. Bought from Minisport in South Aus - cost $161 shipped.
Haven't been out in the dark yet but if they are as good as old and tired Hella's I will be happy.
Do sort of wish I had looked a little harder and stayed with Hella as they are worth the money.

You'd need washers on the headlights to cool them or they crack
4300 degrees Kelvin (4573.15 C)
Thats and the fact that no aftermarket HID kits are legal yet might pose a problem

Edit: Actually I just remembered the show mentioned heat and they said thats why you must install the full conversion kit and not just the globes....
Am not sure what they called it now but a transformer looking box was screed in behind each? headlight and that was to remove the heat, the lights were of course wired to this box.
Any further info on that please datto?
I am not trying to push the barrow on these just trying to get at the nitty gritty
Cheers

CAE want $600 for their HID kit.
Many new cars have plastic headlights that will melt if you install higher wattage halogen globes. I imagine the HID kit for a late model cars would include the headlight itself.
