I welded sheet metal then used body filler to even it out for a mate, was actually quite a big job but he was wrapped with the result.

Hopefully you mean wrapped in the result, cos what you typed gives a very different impression of your work.

Heaters were an option so check to see if a factory cover suits your tastes.

If i weld over it, how will i get to the wiper mechanisms?

What does a factory cover look like? Any pics?

Thanks

Hey nunganunga.
I know you can get done (yellow sticker) if the heater in your car doesn't work, but if it is an option, like you have mentioned, can i still get done for not having a heater in my LC anymore?

thats why you simply purchase an underdash unit to make it legal, ive never been one for the whole "plate it up" thing, id rather weld it up, but as you say the heater box becomes a problem. i just left mine in, but im thinking of giving it some modification to make it look prettier. :spoton:

Sounds like your from NSW and i dont know the transport laws there. Commonsense tells me no one can make you fit a heater if it was a factory option. Unless you have modified the car and now require one (eg. LA3 safety upgrade)

Guys, i welded the plates over those holes during a major dumb attack. It completely slipped my mind about accessing the wiper motor and arms etc.. Sorry but yeah, if your wiper motor dies,or something under there goes wrong, you have a problem. I'm not sure if you could cut under the dash some where to get at them though?
