what you have there is a two tone car. persian sand body, cotillion white roof.

Lots of Sl's had 2 tone paint.

Hi Guys.

Some people might find this thread a bit confusing, because of the 2 different Persian Sand colours, the original & the Mk II.

Persian Sand Metallic has the Dulux paint number of 15946

Persian Sand Metallic Mk II's Dulux paint number is 30183

Cotillion White's paint number is 15951

If your car was painted Persian Sand (Mk I) all over, the first part of the trim combination number would read 1900

If it was painted Persian Sand Metallic Mk II all over the trim combination code would be 1925

If it was painted Cotillion White all over the trim combination code would be 1888

If the car was two-tone with a Persian Sand Metallic (Mk I) body & a Cotillion White roof, the trim code would begin with 1414

Finally, if the body was painted Persian Sand Metallic Mk II with a Cotillion White roof, which this car has, the code would read 1438.

Have I complicated that, or cleared it up.

Dr Terry.

Hi Guys.

Yes, Welby you did say that, although you didn't mention the fact that it was the Mk II version of the Persian Sand.

All I was trying to do was clear up the mess that was developing with everybody throwing in their version of what code meant what.
