I'm just chasing info regarding a 1970 LC XU-1 muffler. Would 1970 XU1 torries have come out as a twin exhaust muffler or would it be single. I think I read somewhere (Maybe Fiv Antonio) that the first XU-1 toranas came out with a single pipe outlet muffler up until the end of 1970. At the start of 1971 they changed over to the twin outlet muffler.

Can someone please put my mind to rest. It would be good if you could supply documentation/facts to support peoples opinions.

Cheers

Hi Captain

As I understand the Viv Antoniou book, the twin tail pipe muffler and the reintroduction of the resonator occurred from August '71. These and other changes are outlined in a Service Dealer Letter dated August 19 1971.
