AFAIK Use a standard trimatic shifter and knock the pins out & swap the lower lever to the left hand side.

I have one on eBay it the moment.

They look the same as the Trimatic shifter but with the linkage on the LHS as stated by Toranavista. I am not sure if the linkage arm or the piece that bolts to the transmission are the same as Trimatic.

If you have a Trimatic shifter and want to compare pictures let me know in the next couple of days.

I plan on fitting a T350 to my hatch and want to retain the original look shifter

So should I buy Andys or just mod my own... is it that easy ?

The only differnce for the standard torana tbar is the bottom link arm needs to change sides and the gate gap between the R and P needs to be a fraction longer for the 350 ie allow it to slide a bit further forward. I found that with the standard gate it would not lock the gearbox in park properly.

Others may have a difference experience but that is how mine was.

A shorter arm off the gearbox will give you a shorter throw at the shifter & fix that problem. I had that trouble on my UC.

I thought a T350 shifter would be cable operated. I recently removed a T350 from a WB and it was cable not linkage.

The early TH350 in HJ ( I think ) were linkage. I tried to fit a cable shifter from WB Statesman and found that the linkage on the gearbox fouled on the transmission tunnel. Unfortunately this was after I had cut the hole for the cable.

I then bought the shifter from an HJ and it fitted without any clearance problems.

Hi Guys.

Statesmans (Deville & Caprice) only from HX onwards got the cable shifter. The Kingswood, Premier & GTS etc retained the normal rod linkage.
