Ive done 2k solid over acrylic and you get away with it if the acrylic is totally dry (and i don't mean three weeks in the shed dry), but would not recommend it for total resprays.

Painting twopack over acrylic is not a recommended process, You might get away with it in the short term but regardless on how old or new the acrylic paint will be there will always be a good chance of the new twopack paint work "sinking" in and around the old acrylic, leaving you with unsightly marks in the paintwork and/or crazing.
If your going to paint 2pack clear over acrylic basecoat you may as well use 2pack basecoat, there wouldn't be much difference in cost or application and at least you know it will work together.
There are products available to use as a sealer between old paint and new, We use one at work which is a Glasurit product but I can't remember their brand's name of it, we just call it by the old PPG slang name of "Scan Sealer", it is a 2pack transparent sealer.
Obviously with all paintwork the more stable the surface to be painted the more chance your new paintwork will look its best, therefore a Bare metal surface is the optimum.

My panel beater (like I own him at the moment!?!) uses an epoxy (plastic) primer to seal bare metal before he applies any filler. He also applied it over the bits that had old paint and primer still on it. He reckons it seals everything and stops sinking etc. It's a pale green colour but I don't know what brand it is or what it's called. I can find out if you're interested.
