Round 5 of the AMRS serries is on at Adelaide International Raceway on July 14 and 15. The Improved Production guys will be racing with one of the classes. I have a feeling it's the HQ's, Sam may be able to confirm this?
I know Dave and Wayne are taking the Torries out for this one. I've been told that A.I.R is a good track for the V8's as they are able to reel in the rice cookers with hair dryers when they run out of puff down the long straight which I'm farmiliar with from my 1/4 mile runs. I hope the holes around the bend at the deep end have been fixed since I last raced (I'm sure they have been).

Todays auto fiction says that the air round has been shifted to wakefield park,so it doesn't look like they will be there something to do with the track upgrades wont be finished in time. do you no what upgrades they are talking about it certainly was pretty rough there last year thats for sure.
cheers tony

Yep we're running with the Super Tin Tops, kind of a grouped together class, with HQ's, Saloon Cars, Older Sports sedans etc...

I'm not going to be running, I'm saving my pennies for some interstate rounds....

I should be out there for the August state champs meetings though.

Tony - I havnt heard anything about track upgrades.. although if true it would be most welcome..... there was an AMRS meeting out there last year, and by all accounts the track was in poor condition, I think the comment was bring a spare windscreen with ya.. :)

and lots of tyres the track just ate em up all weekend from f4000's down and rough as the open wheeler guys were having trouble seeing they were getting bounced around that much. rhr hubs kept breaking going thru the turn onto the bowl as they moved a wall that had sat there for 20 years and sunk into the track there was pics showing the f4000's on the rhr wheel only !!! the track also broke up as well on the saturday.

If that's true about the meeting being shifted that's a bit of a pisser. I can fully understand why thou if the tracks not up to standard causing damage to cars.
I know from my 1/4 mile days how bad it was. There has been no street drag meetings at A.I.R now for two years and we keep hearing how they are doing work to the track (im talking the deep end and return road which happens to be the circuit racers track) so they can race again. I was suprised they had the AMRS serries there last year and until now wasn't aware that the track was so bad for it and still is now oviously.
They way things are with A.I.R is a joke. The sale of the venue has been in and out of court for 4 or 5years now and no resoultion for any form of racer (drag or circuit) is in site.
