Bad Luck, down here yesterday and today in NSW it has been perfect. Nice and sunny and no wind. Not like last week of course, where my meeting was cancelled due to rain.

I told Gordon Moore in the GTHO we cant let these modern cars beat us..He agrees!!

Also the editor Graham Stevenson from Qld Street Action Magazine pulled me aside and took photos of the car and did an interview..He is doing a feature on the car in the next issue so keep an eye out for it. Slipped up to have a quick look at the XU1 display..nice one guys!..Didnt meet Darren or any of the guys..will try again tomorrow.!! Yee Hah!! :spoton:
My missus is 2nd Lady behind a bird..well we think thats what it is..who turned up in a 98 WRX with $20K motor in it pumping 300kw!...She did a 47 and is 7th outright...missus is into the 53s area..no beating horsepower and balls! (Did I mention we are sure she has balls?...)

My claim to fame was I was 10th outright in the wet..same as Speed on Tweed..8th outright in the wet..maybe I need a full wet meeting? No one told me you were supposed to go slower in the wet..? Outright was Alam McConnel..ex GP bike racer in a Van Dieman Formula Atlantic at 39.4s....pretty damn impressive...at least a bloody Nissan GTR didnt win! :spoton:

Spoke to Barry Singleton last night ..he has 3 Formula cars and a CanAm car..used to drive F5000 in the Gardos and owned the only McLaren M8D Can Am sports car in Aust..(recently sold in the USA for $US6M!...no..he sold it years ago..is still pissed off!)..He has recently bought 5 open wheeler historics from the US including a March F3 and a Brabham F2 from 1972....I can have my pick..unfortunately the HDT Yellow XU1 V8 will have to go to finance it but I have always wanted an open wheeler historic car..so when we have the MHDT L34 sorted thats the plan. Maybe something like this 70 Lotus Formula 2 would suit? or a F5000?or a Historic CanAm car?

Go for it Rory :spoton:

I'd love to pick up an open wheeler one day, would be great to drive a real race car, instead of a converted sedan....

If I was cashed up enough, I'd go for one of those F5000's, watching them at Phillip Island was unreal!
