The other night, halfway home, and my dash lights went out.... When I got home, no dash lights = left the lights on = dead battery the next day.
Charge the battery up - all good.
Replace the blown fuse for dash lights - next time I drive at night, fuse blows as soon as I turn the lights on....
Any idea's where to start looking?
Dash lights blowing fuses...

I'd say the wires for your dash lights are shorting against the steel of the chassis somewhere - what else is on that circuit? It could be the same reason if the indicators or something have a short too.

Isn't it the park light fuse too?

Yes, should run off the same fuse as park lamps, so short could anywhere on those circuits too, other possibilites include the dimmer switch.

yeah, also found at (at scrutineering for wakefield) that the brake lights are on the same circuit.....
Replaced the fuse (So I could race) but havent tried turning the lights on again... will see what happens?

Well, the good news is that (with some trepidation)I turned the headlights on last night, and....... The fuse didn't blow!!
Maybe the last one was just a dud fuse?.... maybe there was water causing a short (no lack of rain!)... we'll wait & see...
Oh, and no to a boot light (though it would be handy!), but thanks for the suggestion...

Check the wiring to the number plate light or trailer plug wiring (if you have one).
